End of pregnancy pictures @ 35 weeks

Before I move on from my miserable pregnancy memories, I need to post a few end pictures for the record book.  Warning....too much skin!  On the way to the hospital, we stopped back home to grab our hospital bag and take these pictures, so they were taken 2 1/2 hours before the babies were born.  I did get a good shower in that morning and was able to do my hair and makeup that day!  So glad this phase is over in my life!  Already seems like a distant memory and it's only been 4 weeks!

My last week of pregnancy

My last week of pregnancy was by far the hardest of them all. It started off by having contractions every 8-12 min for most of the day on January 13th. Very exhausting. On January 14th I had a chiropractor apt followed by a dr appt and non-stress test. The non-stress test showed that I was having some good contractions but when the dr checked me I was only dilated to a 1 1/2 so the dr wasn't concerned. My lower back hadn't hurt until I laid on the uncomfortable table to do the non-stress test. My back hurt from then on.
every day I was getting bigger and more uncomfortable with more Braxton hicks. On Saturday I was able to get my hair cut, went to hobby lobby (barely made it), and went to a wedding reception. I was trying to go into labor so I could have the babies on Sunday but it just made me very uncomfortable. Eating and drinking hurt cause I had no room to fit it in. I was hoping to go to one more store after the wedding reception but I was too tired. Sunday was Lynar's birthday and I thought it would be fun to have the babies on his and Arlyn's birthday. It was a tough day and it was the first time that Lynar had to go buy his own birthday cake. What a good birthday present I was hoping to give him, but I guess it was two days late and the hardest birthday present I have ever given Lynar.
On Tuesday, January 21st I had had the worst night ever. I was in pain and could not get comfortable. Little did I know I was in labor, but it was all back labor. I hardly slept that night. When I woke up I told the kids that the babies would probably be born that day. I knew I physically couldn't go on. I had my MFM dr appt scheduled for 9:40 and I had a friend Jamie take me to the appt. the ride to the dr office was painful as every bump and turn I'm the road hurt. I couldn't sit upright because I was so tight in my belly and the babies were so far into my ribs. When I got to the Dr's office I had a couple people ask me if I was in labor--I looked that bad. The ultrasound was done and I had 17 cm of fluid around Jaxon which is way too much. 9 cm is the max you should have. Jordan has 6 or 7 cm around him also.   The babies were estimated to be 4 lbs 14 oz and 7 lbs 4 oz.  This is a 33% discordance in their weight.  Everything looked pretty good and we got some good ultrasound pictures since there was so much fluid. When Dr Canzoneri came in and did his scan he had a hard time getting good results on Jaxon with all the fluid, so he checked me and saw that I was dilated between a 3&4 and had a bulging bag of fluid. He went right away and called my OB Dr Hannah and the nurse came in and told me to go straight to the hospital for a c-section. Lynar had met me at the Dr office so it was nice that he was there with me. The ride up to the hospital was so miserable again. I knew by then that I definitely was having back labor. I did stop by at home to grab a few things and take a couple last minute end of pregnancy pictures.
We got to the hospital at 12:30 or so and things started going fast. My brother in law Deryn works close by and so he met us there to help lunar give me a blessing. When we got there they told me first off that they needed to get started since the ambulance was already there waiting to transport the babies to the nicu at Willow Creek hospital. I didn't know they were going to do that automatically and so this kind of freaked me out a bit. I was hurting so bad and just wanted the c-section to start that I agreed to everything.  The babies were born at 2:13 &2:14. I was awake and alert like I requested for the whole thing. The spinal went well and I was glad that they brought the babies to me before taking them to the nursery. Jordan had good apparently scores of 7&9, but Jaxon wasn't so good at 3&6. Lynar was able to hold and carry Jordan to the newborn nursery, but the NICU Dr needed to hold and take care of Jaxon.  I had been told most of my pregnancy that the bigger baby would do worse than the smaller baby and the Dr's were right.  He needed oxygen right off and for the next 24+ hours. They brought the babies to me again when I was in recovery and the babies were in a the transport crib, although I wasn't really able to see the babies since they were wrapped up in blankets all ready to go. It was so sad to see them leave and know it would be at least two days before I could see my babies.

The Dr told me that my uterus was about to rupture so it was good to do the surgery that day and that both babies had so much fluid around them that they just floated out and he didn't have to pull the babies out like normal. He also said I had fluid everywhere in my abdominal cavity. I was retaining water all in my abdomen!  My feet and ankles looked great my whole pregnancy, but swelled up like balloons 2 days after delivery.  The swelling lasted about a week and slowly went down.
